Nikke Isomöttönen
Nikke Isomöttönen (b. 1976) graduated as music pedagogue from the Conservatory of Central Finland (Jyväskylä) in 2000. His main instrument was the clarinet. He has studied orchestral conducting under Juha Törmä and Torsten Lindfors, and choir conducting under Rita Varonen. Furthermore, he has participated in master classes by Jorma Panula, Atso Almila, Pertti Pekkanen, Tõnu Kaljuste and Paul Niemistö.
Isomöttönen is conductor of the String Orchestra of Jyväskylä Polytechnic School of Music, the Jyväskylä Opera Choir, the Jyväskylä Wind Orchestra and the Jyväskylä War Veteran Choir. He has been an assistant conductor and chorus master in productions of the Jyväskylä Opera. Isomöttönen has conducted the Jyväskylä Polytechnic Symphony Orchestra in the opera production La Finta Semplice by W. A. Mozart and in the Jyväskylä Violin Competition. Furthermore, he has guest conducted the Finnish Air Force Military Band.
In 2002 Isomöttönen won the first prize (shared) in the national choir conducting competition of the Choral Espoo Festival in Espoo, Finland.
Isomöttönen teaches orchestral conducting in the Jyväskylä Polytechnic School of Music and works as a producer. In November 2005 he debuted as a conductor of Jyväskylä Sinfonia.
